Other community Groups and Businesses are taking on fundraising initiatives as well:

-  Beaverlodge Dozers Hockey Team held a fundraising Breakfast June 5, 2010, where attendees had an opportunity to get their picture taken with Hockey figures Matt Walker and Chris Schmidt.

-  The Beaverlodge Chamber of Commerce held a 'Summer Splash' event on June 24, 2010. It was a Giant Sidewalk Sale on Main Street where each business had a way your purchase could support the pool or a way you could make a donation to the pool.

-  The Fields store and Craig Powell Chartered Accountants held a Town Water Fight on August 19, 2010. The second block of main street (2nd to 3rd avenue and 10th street) was blocked off for a town water fight. All that was needed to get involved was a donation to the pool. The fire department even had a fire truck on main street, where people would get soaked by the fire engine.

CIBC has a policy where if there staff is to have a 'casual' day, each individual must donate a dollar to a charity of the Branches choice. The Build A Dream Pool Project has been fortunate enough to benefit from this program.

A&W has made raising funds for the pool a priority. By placing donation containers for the pool by their cash registers, the A&W is supporting the pool in a big way.

Bigway Foods has a 'Loyalty Program' where individuals can save their receipts over $25.00 and bring them back to Bigway and have a percentage of the purchase donated to a charity of their choice. The Town office is collecting Receipts and benefiting from this program. Splash Up for the pool project was another fundraising program that the Bigway held for the pool in October. Individuals could round up their bill to the nearest dollar and that amount was donated to the Build a Dream Pool Project.

-  The Beaverlodge Bottle Depot is provides individuals an opportunity to donate their bottles to a charity of their choice. Individuals can take bottles to the Beaverlodge Bottle Depot, clearly marked "NEW POOL", and the staff will sort the bottles and send a cheque to the New pool Fund.

IGA has a round up for the pool program, where customers can have their till receipt rounded up to the nearest dollar and the proceeds go to the Build a Dream Pool Project.

-  Thanks to Erin Kyle at Around the Block, there is paint can banks located at many businesses in town as well as at the Town Office. Individuals can place their change in the cans to help the pool. "Every drop builds a dream."

-  Some people find it appropriate to make a donation in memory of a loved one.

Many individuals and organizations have donated a service, product, or time to the Build a Dream project. The Build a Dream fundraising initiatives have brought the community together for a common goal while building positive community spirit. It is great to see people working and enjoying time together for a community facility that will be a place for people to enjoy for many years to come.

Volunteers are always welcome. If you or your business is raising funds for the pool, let us know so we can recognize your efforts. If you have an idea for a Build a Dream Fundraiser we would love to hear it.
